Fair Share Health Care

There are plenty of good corporate citizens (some of them smaller employers) who are doing the right thing and investing in affordable coverage for their employees.

But there are also large, profitable corporations that are shifting the cost of providing health care for their employees onto taxpayers like us.

We think everyone has to do their part -- including large businesses -- to make health care affordable for more Washingtonians.  In the 2006 legislative session, Washington for Health Care will be actively supporting a "fair share health care" bill to require employers of 5,000 or more to pay a reasonable percentage of payroll toward health care for their employees.

The bill is being drafted now, and we're anxious to hear from people who want to help work to set a health care standard for large corporations.
